It depends on what is wrong, so we do not guess over the phone. The technician diagnoses on site and gives you a written price before any work starts. There is a service call fee for the visit, and it is applied toward the repair if you go ahead.
Usually the safety sensors near the floor are blocked, dirty, or out of alignment. Check for anything in the beam and wipe the lenses. If it still reverses, we can realign or replace the sensors.
If the opener is over 15 years old, has no safety sensors, or needs a new motor or gear, replacement is usually the better value. If it is a sensor, remote, or trolley issue, repair is the way to go. We tell you which on site.
